Fractals combine art and mathematics.
Take a predefined region of the complex
plane; plug its points one at a time into a function; create a
feedback loop by iterating the function a large number of times;
if the value of the function remains within certain bounds, the
point is part of the fractal, otherwise it is not. But from an
artist's point of view there is more to it. Elements of the
process can be further manipulated to yield colorful boundaries
and other kinds of patterns.
There are eight galleries on this site, each containing nine of my
fractal creations; a total of 72. High quality limited edition
prints, as well as a CD containing all the images and a
PowerPoint slideshow, are available for purchase.
